Emilie is a violinist/violist from Ithaca, NY and is currently teaching at the Scotia Suzuki School of Music. She received her B.M. in violin performance and her M.M. in Suzuki Pedagogy and Performance from Ithaca College. She has studied with Carrie Reuning-Hummel, Calvin Wiersma, Kyle Armbrust (viola), Susan Waterbury, Fritz Gearhart, and Sylvia Arahmjian. She is a passionate teacher committed to teaching students at any age and level and previously taught privately in Homer, NY. She aims to help each student find their unique voice with music and to use the violin or viola as an expressive tool. She is also an avid performer and has subbed with numerous orchestras in Upstate New York including the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Binghamton Philharmonic, the Catskill Symphony Orchestra, Opera Ithaca, the Ithaca New Music Collective, and the Clinton Symphony Orchestra.
