Ellen Sonnenberg is a violinist from Wisconsin currently in the violin section of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. She completed two courses in Suzuki Violin Teacher Training this past summer at Ithaca College. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Violin Performance and Literature in May 2018 from the Eastman School of Music, studying with Juliana Athayde.

She also completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Eastman in 2016, studying with Federico Agostini. She spent several years as a Concertmaster at Eastman, serving in leadership roles in the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra, Eastman Opera Orchestra, and Eastman Philharmonia. Ellen also spent two seasons as a core member of Symphoria, a regional professional orchestra in Syracuse, NY, and received tenure in 2017. Ellen has studied with Jerome Franke and Samantha George of the Milwaukee Symphony.
