Elizabeth Jones grew up as a “Suzuki kid,” beginning her studies on violin when she was 7. After just one year, she switched to viola and was hooked for life! Elizabeth completed her BM in viola performance at University of Michigan, MM in viola performance at Northern Illinois University, and four years of Doctoral study at University of Kentucky, with an assistantship to play in the graduate quartet.

Elizabeth Jones is the Orchestra Director at Owensboro High School and teaches strings at Owensboro Middle School. Elizabeth currently performs in the Lexington Philharmonic viola section and plays Assistant Principal Viola with the Owensboro Symphony. She teaches violin and viola students in her private studio and at Kentucky Wesleyan College, where she also directs the KWC Chamber Ensemble.

Elizabeth lives in Owensboro, KY with her husband Randy, her children Nathan and Lila, and a house full of feline friends.
