Elise Massicotte is a professional cellist and Suzuki cello teacher. Born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, Massicotte started cello lessons at the age of 7 under Suzuki-trained teacher Elizabeth Efroymson-Brooks. After studying cello for 11 years, she went on to receive her Bachelors of Music degree in Cello Performance at Lawrence University’s Music Conservatory in Appleton, WI. There she studied with Janet Anthony for 4 years. Elise then received her Master’s in Cello Performance under Dr. Minna Rose Chung at the University of Manitoba.

Massicotte has participated in numerous ensembles throughout her musical career, including the New World Youth Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras in Indianapolis, New Augusta North Orchestra and Pike High School Symphony Orchestra (playing viola), Lawrence Symphony Orchestra in Appleton, WI, and Orchestra Vitae in London, England. She was awarded first place in the New World Philharmonic Concerto Competition in 2006 and performed as a soloist in Hilbert Circle Theater accompanied by the New World Philharmonic. Massicotte has led many chamber ensembles and considers chamber ensembles to be her favorite form of classical music. After finishing her Masters degree in cello during the pandemic, she is excited to continue her training as a Suzuki teacher and her career as a musician.
