Douglas Rogers is a frequent performer throughout the mid-Atlantic region. He is often a featured artist on 90.3FM WHRO’s Silver Moonbeams, a classical guitar program produced and hosted by Bill Hicok. He described Douglas’ performance of Napoleon Coste as “masterful” and his concerts as “beautifully performed.”

Douglas holds a Masters of Music in Guitar Performance and Pedagogy along with a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University. He has studied with Julian Gray, Ray Chester, and Tim Olbryk. Doug has participated as a performer in Manuel Barrueco, Carlo Domeniconi, Lorenzo Micheli, and Matteo Mela master classes. Douglas has premiered several new prizewinning chamber music compositions, including Hyun Kyung Kim’s Sonnet and Angel Lam’s Images of Water.
Doug also studied composition with Thomas Benjamin at Peabody, and continues to compose today.

He has been teaching guitar for over 12 years in the DC/Metropolitan area.
