Dr. Denitsa VanPelt holds degrees from The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (BM, DMA) and Bowling Green State University (MM). Dr. VanPelt completed her Suzuki training with Mary Craig Powell.

Dr. VanPelt has won numerous piano competitions and regularly performs solo and chamber music concerts. She enjoys performing with her husband, a classical saxophonist, and has a special interest in 20th century repertoire.

As a teacher, Dr. VanPelt has years of experience providing private and group piano instruction to children and adults. Her students regularly receive recognition in achievement programs such as the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program and perform at Carnegie Hall. Dr. VanPelt is a former faculty member of the Westminster Conservatory. She is currently on the faculty of the New School for Music Study at the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy.
