Dee Braxton-Pellegrino is a native of eastern NC. She began her violin study with Dr. Rodney Schmidt of ECU and also studied with Dr. David Cerrone (Meadowmount) and Oswald Lehnert (University of Colorado). Suzuki training was done under the tutelage of Rudy Hazucka and Susan Moinester. Dee has a BMEd and MMEd from ECU and has taught public school orchestra in both the Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Pitt County School systems, grade 4-12. Additionally Dee has taught music education, string, theory and ear training classes at the university level both at the adjunct and associate level. She is the founder of the Tar River String program in Rocky Mount NC and has conducted and adjudicated civic, college and youth symphonies in the surrounding area. Along with her teaching and conducting, Ms. Braxton-Pellegrino is also an accomplished composer/arranger whose work can be seen and heard at JWPepper.com. She also performs regularly in the area on violin and viola.
