Dawn Lindsay, one of Alaska’s leading violinists, was raised in Alaska, beginning her violin studies at age five. At the age of ten, she studied for two months with Dr. Suzuki in Matsumoto, Japan.
She attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, studying with Mimi Zweig, and at the University of North Texas with Phil Lewis, where she graduated with a degree in violin.
Enjoying the full spectrum of musical genres, Dawn’s versatility has her performing in Baroque ensembles, the Anchorage Symphony, as concertmaster of Anchorage Opera Orchestra, with national touring musicals such as Chicago and the Lion King, and live and studio work with local jazz, blues and bluegrass bands.
Dawn’s passion is teaching, and she maintains a vibrant and active violin studio in Anchorage, teaching students from Twinkle to Tchaikovsky.
