Danielle Pivonka began playing piano when she was 6 years old and violin when she was 9 years old. Throughout her musical journey, she loved both instruments dearly, but declared violin as her primary instrument when she began college.

Prior to beginning college, Danielle studied with Laurie Rodriguez and Ann Montzka-Smelser. Upon entering college as a music major, she studied with Renee-Paule Gauthier at North Park University (NPU), and then with Mathias Tacke at Northern Illinois University (NIU). During her senior year at NIU, Danielle completed her Every Child Can (ECC) and Suzuki Book 1 training with Ann Montzka-Smelser, and became a registered Suzuki Teacher in 2017.

Danielle has performed in orchestras, including the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra (KSO) and attended music camps across the country such as Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) at University of Illinois, Birch Creek Symphony in Door County, Wisconsin, and Lyceum Music Festival in Midway, Utah.

Danielle graduated from NIU in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Currently, she is teaching in the DeKalb area through the Community School of the Arts (CSA) at NIU where she has taught since 2015, and The Music Connection in Sycamore where she has taught since 2016. She has recently been accepted to Arizona State University’s Master of Music program in Music Education and will begin her studies in the Spring of 2019.
