Crystal began teaching at the auspicious age of 15 when she founded and directed Morgan Valley Strings, a community orchestra program.  15 years and over 400 students later, Crystal has taught violin, viola, orchestra and early childhood music in public, private and charter school, youth symphonies, and music camps.  She has served as section coach and adjudicator to the Albuquerque Youth Symphony, New Mexico All State, as well as regional and state solo and ensembles.  Her students have gone on to study music at prestigious universities, and (most importantly) still play and love music into their adult years.

She has a Bachelors in Music in String Pedagogy with emphasis in viola performance at the University of New Mexico where she studied with Susan Kempter and Kimberly Fredenburgh, respectively.  She received her long term Suzuki training from Susan Kempter, books 1-10.

Now a mom of four (four and under!) she delights in teaching her kids music, gardening, doing yoga and being a wife and mom.
