Claire Terry began playing violin at the age of six, working with the well-known Suzuki teacher Ramona Stirling. At the age of fourteen she continued her studies with Gerald Elias, assistant concert master of the Utah Symphony. After high school she attended Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music where she was the recipient of the Music Faculty Award Scholarship and had many opportunities to perform as a soloist and in ensembles. After her freshman year , Claire returned to Salt Lake City and finished her education at the University of Utah. During her time there she was able to perform with the Utah Philharmonia and study with Ralph Matson, concert master of the Utah Symphony. She was also awarded membership of both the O.C. Tanner and Mount Olympus Honors String Quartets, along with many other music scholarships. Claire graduated from the University of Utah in May 2010 with her degree in violin performance.
