Christine McQuillan is a Double Bass player and Suzuki Bass teacher from Des Moines, Iowa.

Christine began playing Bass at ten years old. She then started private lessons at Suzuki School of Elgin in Elgin, Illinois with Virginia Dixon. She played with the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra for many years. Some of her favorite memories from her youth from attending Bass Workshops including the Richard Davis Foundation for Young Bassists annual conferences, the International Society of Bassists conference, and the American Suzuki Institute in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Christine received the National School Orchestra Award as a senior at Larkin High School in Elgin and was very actively involved in assisting with the U-46 elementary and middle school orchestra programs.

Christine went to Illinois State University and became an Illinois Certified Teacher in both Special Education and Music Education. She studied with Professor Bill Koheler. After college Christine became a flight attendant for Chautauqua Airlines and later Republic Airlines. She worked commercial flights and also trained flight attendants as an Inflight Support Specialist and a Line Instructor.

Currently, Christine lives in Des Moines, Iowa, with her husband, Shane, and her young son, Wesley. She plays Bass with the Des Moines Community Orchestra. She also frequently plays with the Worship Team at Lutheran Church of Hope in Des Moines. In the summer Christine also performs Bass with the Military Tribute Concert Orchestra at the Iowa State Fair.
