Mr. Chip Ross

Mr. Ross is a singer and pianist. He has given more than 40 solo and ensemble performances over the past ten years of classical and contemporary music. He created, organized, and performed in two concerts of the Louisville Vocal Jazz Project, an inaugural recipient of a City of Louisville arts grant.

Mr. Ross served as the executive director of Ars Nova Singers (October 2011 through October 2017) and has been a board member of the Suzuki Association of Colorado, the Boulder Bach Festival, the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado, Sphere Ensemble, and the Ars Nova Singers.

Mr. Ross was a Suzuki parent, attending weekly piano lessons and supervising home listening and practice for his two sons. In that role, he learned the piano repertoire along with his children, from Volume 1 through Volume 4, and attended group classes and graduation recitals.

Mr. Ross has worked with beginning and intermediate piano students ranging in age from 5 to 70-plus. He believes every child—and adult!—can and tries to create a positive and supportive approach to learning. He uses the Suzuki methods and materials, as well as other methods and materials learned from his various teachers. A native of Chicago, he holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and is currently accepting new students at his home studio in Louisville, Colorado.
