I was born in Illinois and moved to Colorado in 1990. I’m a pianist and singer and have founded, managed, performed with, and served on the board of various choral and instrumental performing ensembles.

My piano training consists of seven years of private classical lessons with teachers in Illinois and Colorado, supplemented by workshops and short courses on jazz and improvisation, and self-guided study. My voice training consists of two years of private voice lessons, workshops and masterclasses on specific vocal topics, and ten years of practical experience singing with community and church choirs, vocal jazz ensembles, and various one-off projects.

My exposure to the Suzuki method occurred as my two sons were studying the piano. I was a Suzuki parent for four years, attending weekly lessons and periodic group lessons, supervising home practice, and learning the piano repertoire to better assist in their development and model good practice habits.

I began offering private lessons in 2004. Since then, I have taught students ranging in age from 5 to 65+, both in my home studio and as a traveling teacher, for the convenience of busy parents or those home-schooling their children. I find the Suzuki approach to be logical, positive, inspiring, and successful and am thrilled to use it in my teaching.

I hold BA and MM degrees from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. I’m currently accepting new students and would be pleased to provide additional information or schedule a sample session.
