Celina Farmer is a violinist and certified teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas currently residing in her hometown of Anchorage, Alaska where she teaches at the Alaska School of Music. A lifelong musician, Ms. Farmer has been playing the violin for 20 years, beginning violin study at the age of five and going on to receive a Masters of Music in Violin Performance from DePaul University, a Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance from The Eastman School of Music, and a High School Diploma from Interlochen Arts Academy. She is an active performer and most recently played at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Burlington, VT and was Concertmaster of the DePaul Concert Orchestra.

Ms. Farmer is a dedicated teacher and has continued to build her certifications in Teacher Training for Suzuki Books 1—5 with Rolando Freitag, an internationally renowned pedagogue. While completing her Masters Degree, Ms. Farmer taught as a Practice Buddy and Substitute teacher at the DePaul Community School Division. Additionally, she was a violin representative for the DPCMD “Instrument Petting Zoos” that the DPCMD hosted at the Holtschneider Performance Center and Chicago Symphony Center.

Ms. Farmer enjoys teaching students of all ages and backgrounds and has taught for the non profit organization Music for Kids, where she worked with underprivileged children of Latino heritage and at Music House School of Performing Arts as an Outreach Teaching Artist at Skinner Elementary. Ms. Farmer cares deeply for each of her students and is devoted to teaching them the skills to achieve their musical goals and overcome challenges they may encounter throughout their lives.
