Cathryn Haubner-Sheridan began music lessons at the age of seven; starting on viola. She later played the violin, and played both instruments through high school before settling on the viola as her primary instrument. Her musical education includes experience with the Young Musicians of Virginia and the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Suzuki Strings Program. In 2010 Cathryn toured with the SIUE Suzuki Tour group, visiting and performing throughout Spain. Cathryn completed her Bachelor Degree in Viola Performance, studying with Bradley Ottesen at Utah State University in 2017 and her Masters degree Suzuki Pedagogy at Northern Arizona University in 2019.

As a teacher, Cathryn has taught violin and viola to young students since 2012. In addition to playing and teaching music, Cathryn enjoys cooking, running, and watching documentaries.
