Carolina Gómez Gordon came to the United States from Colombia after being accepted to Roosevelt University’s School of Music, where she was awarded with a talent scholarship and from which she graduated in 2000 with honors. She received her Master of Music degree (2002) and Performance Certificate (2004) from DePaul University, where she studied with Stephen Balderston.

As a member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra, Mrs. Gómez Gordon was awarded a fellowship for the 2000-2002 seasons. Through the Civic Orchestra, Ms. Gomez Gordon played under the batons of Christoph Eschenbach, William Eddins, Pierre Boulez, Charles Dutoit, Neeme Jaarvi, and Daniel Baremboim, among others. She also performed with the Festival Orchestra of the Europaisches Musikfest Stuttgart for the 2002-2003 seasons.

An avid chamber musician, Mrs. Gómez Gordon has attended the Colorado College and Manchester Chamber Music Festivals, as well as collaborated with artists such as Eteri Andjaparidze, Stephan Hersh and Ilya Kaler.

Carolina Gómez Gordon is a Suzuki-trained cello instructor and has over 13 years of teaching experience. Her students have been a part of the Blue Lake Fine Arts Summer Camp, The Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Illinois Music Educators Association Orchestras. Currently, she teaches privately at Hinsdale United Methodist Church, at the Chicago Center for Music Education (ChiME), and at her home studio in the Portage Park neighborhood of Chicago.
