Carlos Velazquez Cortez

Born in Mexico City in May 1992, he began his violin studies at the age of 8, at the Tultepec School of Fine Arts with Angélica Cortés Saldaña, at 15 years old, knew the musical and expressive capacity of Viola and began to study with José de Jesús Cortés García to enter the Superior School of Music in this instrument, after completing the upper secondary level in Viola , he was the winner of the first viola place of the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico City, later he entered the Carlos Chávez School Orchestra. Where he studied with El Maestro Leck kwapiz, and Jorge Delezé. He played and learned under the baton of great masters, including Enrique Barrios, Richard Markson, Francisco Savín, Eduardo García Barrios, Enrique Dimecke and José Guadalupe Flores, among others. He took refresher courses at the Viola with the teachers of the Leipzig Quartet and members of the Lucerne Music Festival: Ivo Bauer, Tilmann Büning, Mathias Moosdorf and Stefan Arzberger. Subsequently, he entered the life and movement school of the Ollin Yoliztli Cultural Center as professor Javier Montiel of the Latin American quartet and later with Mtra. Felisa Hernández Salmerón. At the end of his studies, he has participated with multiple orchestras, among which are the Chamber Orchestra of the State of Mexico, La Galatea baroque orchestra, the Symphonic Orchestra of the state of Tlaxcala, The Philharmonic Orchestra of the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala, The Youth Symphony Orchestra from Guadalajara, among others. He has collaborated with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Culture, the National Polytechnic Institute, the National Institute of Anthropology and History, the National Institute of Fine Arts, the Autonomous Metropolitan University, among other public and private institutions for the performance of concerts and concerts. He is currently Principal Violist for the Mexico City Chamber Orchestra and the Tlalnepantla Philharmonic Orchestra. He teaches at Azcapotzalco School of music Violin and viola and continues giving recitals and concerts as a soloist and chamber music.

Nació en la Ciudad de México en mayo de 1992, comenzó sus estudios de violín a los 8 años en la escuela de Bellas artes de Tultepec con la Mtra. Angélica Cortés Saldaña, a los 15 años conoció la capacidad musical y expresiva de la Viola y comenzó a estudiar con el maestro José de Jesús Cortés para ingresar a la Escuela Superior de Música en éste instrumento, tras cursar el nivel medio superior en Viola, fue ganador de la plaza de primera viola de la orquesta Filarmónica Juvenil de la Ciudad de México, posteriormente ingresó a la Orquesta Escuela Carlos Chávez. En donde estudió con El Maestro Leck kwapiz, y Jorge Delezé. Tocó y aprendió bajo la batuta de grandes maestros, entre los que destacan Enrique Barrios, Richard Markson, Francisco Savín, Eduardo García Barrios, Enrique Dimecke y José Guadalupe Flores , entre otros. Tomó cursos de perfeccionamiento en la Viola con los maestros del cuarteto Leipzig y miembros del festival de música de Lucerna: Ivo Bauer, Tilmann Büning, Mathias Moosdorf y Stefan Arzberger. Posteriormente Ingresó a la escuela Vida y movimiento del Centro cultural Ollin Yoliztli a la cátedra del maestro Javier Montiel del cuarteto latinoamericano y posteriormente con la Mtra. Felisa Hernández Salmerón. Al concluir sus estudios, ha participado con múltiples orquestas entre las que destacan la Orquesta de Cámara del Estado de México, La Galatea orquesta barroca, la Orquesta Sinfónica del estado de Tlaxcala, La orquesta filarmónica de la Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala, La Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Guadalajara, entre otras. Ha colaborado con la Secretaría de Hacienda, Secretaría de Cultura, Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Instituto Nacional De Antropología e Historia, Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana entre otras Instituciones públicas y privadas para la realización de recitales y conciertos. Actualmente es Violista Principal de la Orquesta de Cámara de la Ciudad de México y de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Tlalnepantla. Da clases en la escuela de música de la alcaldía Azcapotzalco, de Violín y viola y continúa dando recitales y conciertos como solista y de música de Cámara.
