Candy Amato has a versatile career as a teacher, chamber musician, and orchestral player. She is currently a violist in the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed at the Aspen Music Festival, Britten-Pears Young Artists Programme, National Orchestral Institute, Manchester Music Festival, and the Bowdoin International Chamber Music Festival.

Candy received a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music where she was a student of Carol Rodland. She received a Master of Music from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where she received a full scholarship as a student of Li-Kuo Chang and Vicky Chiang. She studied the Suzuki Method with Mary Cay Neal at Buffalo Suzuki Strings and Ann Montzka-Smelser at the Chicago Suzuki Institute.
