Caitlin Fahey Crow is an artist/teacher in the San Diego area. She holds a Bachelor’s degree cum laude in Pre-Medical Studies/Minor in German from the University of New Mexico, and a Master’s degree in Montessori Education from Loyola University Maryland.
Caitlin’s teachers have included Anne Cole (Albuquerque, NM), Vivian Barton (Santa Fe Opera Orchestra), Charles Curtis (UCSD), David Schepps (UNM), and Yao Zhao (SD Symphony/SDSU). She began her Suzuki pedagogy studies with Tanya Carey in 2009, and completed her SAA registered training in all 10 cello books in June 2015. Additional continuing education includes the Suzuki Principals in Action (SPA) course and Music Mind Games Unit 1 with creator Michiko Yurko.
Caitlin is assistant director for Teacher Development at the San Diego Suzuki Institute, and cello program director of the San Diego Suzuki School.
In addition to her teaching career, Caitlin is principal cellist with the La Jolla Symphony under the baton of Steven Schick, and does freelance work in recording, chamber music, and orchestral playing around Southern California. Her side projects include the music and dance collective SISA.rukset and the avant-garde pop group OrchidxMantis.
Caitlin plays the “La Sirena, Star of the Sea” cello, made by Anne Cole.
