Bianca N. Morales Silva
Puerto Rican musician born into a musical family. From an early age, she began musical studies at home, the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory Prep School, and later violin studies at the Escuela Libre de Música de San Juan in Puerto Rico with Prof. Fernando Medina and Prof. Ramonita Leandry. She participated in various Berklee College of Music Summer Programs in Puerto Rico, studied music at the University of Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory and private violin lessons under the instruction of Henry Hutchinson (Concertmaster of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra). Ms. Morales, received a BM degree in violin and voice performance from the University of New Mexico. She studied violin with: Cármelo de los Santos, Susan Kempter, David Felberg, and Guillermo Figueroa. Her voice instruction includes: Sam Shepperson, Leslie Umphrey, opera coach. Private voice lessons with Maestro Carlos Montané at Indiana University (MET performer) and Vocal Coaching with: Piotr Wisniewski at Indiana University and Opera Maya, in Mexico, and Michael Schutze at the UNM Opera program.
As a violinist, Bianca Morales has performed with various ensembles among them: the Puerto Rico Youth Symphony, University of Puerto Rico Latin Jazz and Folkloric Music Ensemble, Puerto Rico Music Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, “Symphonia”- UNM Chamber Ensemble and the University of New Mexico Symphony Orchestra.
As a cross genre performer, Bianca has performed as a violinist at the Don Omar (reggaeton artist) Sinfónico Concert, the Ednita Nazario Concert at the University of Puerto Rico and at the Cantera Octavitas Concerts, among others. Special Performances include: The World Premiere of René Clausen’s Requiem at the University of New Mexico and The Defiant Requiem Verdi at Terezín recreation (Created & Conduted by Murry Sidlin).
As a vocalist, Ms. Morales has performed with Ensembles including: University of New Mexico Opera Studio, University of Puerto Rico Lyrical Theater Company, Camerata Coral in Puerto Rico, University of Puerto Rico Latin Jazz and Folkloric Music Ensemble, University of New Mexico Jazz Choir and the University of New Mexico Concert Choir. Bianca has performed as a guest soloist with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra at the Salsa Sinfónica Concert, the New Mexico Salsa Under the Stars Concert Series with salsa band “En-Joy”, and soloist in the “Nuevo Baktun” 2013 Summer Concert Series of Opera Maya, Regional Opera Company and Apprentice Program in Cancun, Mexico. She has also been a guest performer with el Trio Los Andinos, the Puerto Rico Philharmonic Orchestra at the Octavitas en Cantera Concert Series and with the Berklee College of Music Summer Program Vocal Ensemble at the Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Festival in San Juan.
Ms. Morales has been a violin instructor since 2012 at the Camino de Vida Music Education Program in Albuqueruqe, NM. She is a Golden Key Member International Honor Scholar, registered Suzuki training Units 1-3, active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and touring member of the United Nation Singers.
