Ben Thomason grew up in the Boulder, Colorado Suzuki Strings program, studying with Dr. William Starr and Amy Gesmer-Packman. Mr. Ben earned B.A. and Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance from Whitman College and California State University, Northridge, and has completed Suzuki Violin teacher training in Units 1-10 with master teachers Liz Arbus and Cathy Lee. He has over 10 years of experience teaching Suzuki Violin, starting in Los Angeles, where he maintained a private Suzuki Violin studio and was Assistant Director of the Suzuki program at the Cornerstone Music Conservatory. Ben was the Director of the Texas Lutheran University Community Music Academy for three years, a program of over 250 strings and choral students providing group and private instruction at reduced costs to local students. Ben has also lived in China for 5 years, and taught Suzuki violin at Seed Music Academy in Hong Kong. He has performed in the Mid-Texas Symphony, the Santa Monica Symphony, and the Walla Walla Symphony, as well as in various chamber music and solo concerts.
