Bailey Clemmons is a passionate and motivated music educator who loves working with students and sharing her love of music. She offers private lessons in viola, violin, and piano to students of all ages, from the beginner through professional levels.

From her middle school years, through her time as an undergraduate student at North Carolina Central University, Bailey has remained an active performer as well as a student of music. In addition to her many performances in a school setting, she has played for weddings, talent shows, and other events. Pre-covid she played with the Chapel Hill Philharmonia Orchestra and currently plays with Indie Strings and as 1st chair violist with the Meredith College Philharmonic Orchestra in Raleigh, NC.

She is a behavioral therapist who specializes in working with children with autism.

While Bailey encourages regular practice on a consistent schedule, she finds it most important that students have fun while learning. If a student is not enjoying lessons, then she feels she is not doing her job correctly! At the commencement and finale of each session, she encourages the student to review what they have learned and set goals for the future. Having a chart of goals physically written down helps students to chart their own progress in real time. Goals can include entering a competition or recital, or working on composing original material so that the student can feel great about his or her own personal accomplishments. Bailey’s philosophy is to focus more on progression than perfection.

The viola, an instrument with is own flavor and style, can often be overlooked in an orchestra setting, so Bailey especially enjoys teaching this unique instrument to those who are looking for something different and outside of the norm. She encourages students who are trying a stringed instrument for the very first time to try the viola—it will open doors for other stringed instruments if they so choose!
