Aurora Foster is a violin and viola teacher in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She is originally from Mexico, but has been in the area since Fall of 2010. Aurora received her Bachelor of Music with an emphasis on Music Therapy from the University of the Americas in Puebla, Mexico. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance and Orchestral Conducting from Middle Tennessee State University, where she studied under the instruction of Dr. Andrea Dawson.

It was during her undergraduate years that Aurora became interested in the Suzuki Method. She became an active member of Música Esperanza, an organization that provided string instruction to under privileged children using the Suzuki Philosophy. She has trained with Caroline Fraser and Fernando Pinero, and holds a Suzuki certification and a professional membership with the Suzuki Association of the Americas.

Formerly, Aurora has taught in various schools in Mexico such as the Puebla Conservatory and the Escuela Superior de Musica Fausto de Andres y Aguirre. While at MTSU she was the Teacher Assistant of Dr. Dawson, and the Graduate Assistant of the Orchestra Director. She was the conductor for the Murfreesboro Preparatory String Orchestra, and served as assistant for the Murfreesboro Youth Orchestra. As a performer, she has played with various orchestras in Mexico as well as the MTSU Symphony and Chamber Orchestra, and the Sewanee Symphony.

Aurora is an adjunct instructor at MTSU School of Music where she teaches string techniques. However, most of her time is invested in teaching students of her private studio the Murfreesboro Strings.
