Audrey Frykenberg gained her Licenciate of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in Piano Teaching in 1988 (ABRSM), having studied under Neil Chapman at the Zimbabwe College of Music. She has been teaching piano since 1987, and flute since 1990.

Audrey is certified to teach Suzuki piano Book 1 and Book 2.

Up until 2002, Audrey worked as a musician and teacher in Harare, Zimbabwe, in the following roles:
- Piano teacher, Flute teacher, ABRSM exam accompanist—Zimbabwe College of Music.
- Class music teacher, accompanist—Bishopslea Girls’ School.
- Class music teacher, piano teacher, flute teacher, ‘O’ Level Music teacher, exam accompanist—Arundel Girls’ High School;
- Founder and Director of Music—Hear The Word Music School (now Celebration Ministries International); managed a staff of 15 for various instruments, voice, and drama.
- Assistant Director of Music, Prince Edward Boys’ High School—piano teacher, ‘O’ Level Music teacher, accompanist for school assemblies, and Chapel services, coach for various vocal and instrumental ensembles, developed class music, managed a staff of 12, oversaw multiple school ensembles performing in public at various events.
- Church pianist.
- Music festival and competition soloist and accompanist.
- Accompanist, chaperon and driver for the National Students’ Concert Tour.
- Member of the Zimbabwe Society of Music Teachers (Member; Secretary; Treasurer).
- Performed for weddings and funerals.
- Performed cocktail and dinner music for hotels and corporate events.
- Adjudicated the Colgate-Palmolive National Church Choirs Competition.
- Piano coach for child actors working on a 1992 Warner Brothers film (The Power of One), produced in Zimbabwe and Botswana.
- Performed as band member and recorded for a local band.
- Performed as soloist and accompanist on local television and radio.
- Won second prize in the Young Soloists Competition, playing the Shostakovich Piano Concerto no. 2 in F major.

From 2002 onwards in the USA, Audrey has taught piano, flute, and beginner guitar. She has also played piano, and bass guitar for several church ensembles in Wisconsin and Massachusetts. Currently, Audrey teaches piano at Rhapsody Arts Center in Verona, Wisconsin; and plays piano and bass in a local Madison corporate employee ensemble, which she also directs.
