Ashley has been teaching a full Suzuki studio with group classes for the last 9 years. Ashley and her two sisters grew up in the Suzuki method which is what motivated her to pursue teaching as a career. She has her undergraduate degree in violin performance in 2006 and then completed a masters of music degree from the Cleveland Institute of music in violin performance (in the studio of Bill Preucil, Jr.) and Suzuki Pedagogy (in the studio of Kimberly Meier-Sims) in 2008. While in Cleveland, Ashley taught at the Suzuki prep school as well as performing in several orchestras in the immediate area. Ashley has subbed and won jobs with orchestras all over the country, as well as participated as a faculty member and clinician in several chamber programs and summer camps. She believes that performing is important for any teacher. In addition to music, Ashley has 4 young children and loves spending her time with them. She loves to garden and travel. She is looking forward to building a studio in Charlottesville!
