Ashley Ann Jones began her training at the Hartford Conservatory of Music at the age of three and then went on to train as a Suzuki Teacher in 2007 at the Hartt School of Music. Jones trained at the Conservatory, privately with Jane Carlburg and at Trinity College with former principal to Les Ballets Africains (the National Ballet of Guinea) and artistic director of Les Merveille D’Afrique, Abdoulaye Sylla and went on to perform and teach alongside Abdoulaye. Her performance career took of in 1998 and she is a member of premier Flamenco fusion group The Val Ramos Flamenco Ensemble. Ashley debuted as a recording artist with this ensemble on their album ‘Por mi Camino’ in 2001 which hit #5 on the world music charts. Ashley performs and has recorded with international acts in styles such as Salsa, Flamenco, Classical, traditional West African, Jazz and Folk. With 15 years teaching experience, Ashley has taught at the Cheshire Academy, The Musicians Coop of Mystic, at local Magnet and public schools as well as privately from her studio in North Stonington. Her mission is to serve her community in offering the highest quality Suzuki education for violin.
