Aron Rider received her Bachelors Degree in Music from Indiana University and her Masters Degree in Music from Louisiana State University, studying with Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi and Dennis Parker, respectively. Aron has had additional studies with Janos Starker and Helga Winold, and has also performed in the masterclasses of Norman Fischer, Lynn Harrell, and Yo-Yo Ma. Locally, Aron has also been a featured soloist with the Pan-American Symphony and the Chesapeake Orchestra, and given several recitals in the Washington metro area and throughout the Midwest and South. Aron is a founding member of the Caroline Mountain Band, an ensemble featuring “Oldtime” and Appalachian music. She has also performed regularly with Quintango, an ensemble devoted to compositions celebrating the Tango. Aron performs musical theatre, and performs regularly at Shakespeare Theatre and other venues, such as Arena Stage and National Theatre. She enjoys a diverse performance schedule involving both orchestral and chamber music opportunities. You can hear Aron playing in the background of several CDs of many genres, including Rock, Folk, Country as well as Classical. Aron Rider served as the Suzuki Cello Group Class Instructor, which involves teaching group format to all registered Suzuki cello students, as well Associate Instructor of Suzuki Cello at the Levine School of Music for nine years. Aron possesses an animated and (mostly) humorous approach to group class leading, and has been a clinician at the Music School of Delaware and the Atlanta Suzuki Institute. She also has an extensive private teaching studio comprised of students age 4-70ish.
