Mrs. Anna Weddington

Hello! I’m Anna Weddington, a classically trained violinist and Suzuki strings teacher based in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a Suzuki trained teacher (and former Suzuki kid!) I offer weekly lessons for kids and adults at my home studio in the Fry’s Spring neighborhood.

Originally from Central Kentucky, I moved to Virginia in 2021 and founded my performing and teaching studio, Weddington String Studio, LLC. Before relocating to Virginia, I taught private lessons as well as elementary and middle school orchestra in public schools in Lexington, Kentucky. I also served as Director of the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras MusicWorks, an El Sistema-inspired community strings program from 2014-2019. During this time, I was the assistant conductor for the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra’s Preparatory String Orchestra, a member of the Volare String Quartet, and a frequent section violinist with local orchestras.

In recent years, I have enjoyed shifting my focus to teaching private lessons and running my Suzuki studio. One of my favorite things about the violin is its versatility, and I enjoy guiding people of all ages through the artistic process of learning to play an instrument while helping cultivate an appreciation for a wide variety of musical styles. In addition to my home studio, I teach individual lessons and group classes for kids and adults at The Front Porch music school in Charlottesville. I hold degrees in violin performance and music education from the University of Kentucky.
