Anja Haubs is a passionate violin and viola Suzuki teacher with many years of experience. She is a board member of the Maine Suzuki Association, a member of the American Suzuki Association as well as a member of the Bavarian Tonkünstlerverein. She teaches at her own music school “Seal Harbor Music”.

She founded and taught at her own music studios in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut and Germany before she moved to Maine. She also enjoys teaching students in public and private schools and was the director of a junior high school orchestra in Massachusetts.

Anja Haubs received her Suzuki teacher training for Suzuki books 1-6 in Salt Lake City, UT, Hartford, CT and Ithaca, NY with Linda Fiore, Dr. Gail Johansen, Ed Kreitman, and Kimberly Meier-Sims.
For more than 20 years she performed with different orchestras ( Sinfonia-E, Orchestra of the European Energy Business, „Wilde Gungl“ in Munich and the Concord Orchestra in Concord, MA) and frequently played as the member of a string quartet. In addition to her musical education in Germany, she studied chamber music and recorder performance of the Renaissance at the Longy School of Music, Cambridge, MA . She received further training in music improvisation and teaching strategies for children with special needs.

She has experience working with students of all ages from age 3 to seniors.

Anja Haubs and her husband have four grown children all being musicians as well. She was a Suzuki mom for almost 20 years. Two of her daughters became professional musicians, now performing as ” Haubs Duo” on violin and piano.
