Dr. Karpyuk received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance Summa Cum Laude from The Hartt School of Music, and Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Music Theory from the University of Connecticut. His dissertation is entitled “Sergei Mikhailovich Lyapunov’s Piano Sonata Op. 27 (1908): Style, Structure, and Nineteenth-Century Precedents.”

Dr. Karpyuk’s musical passion is evident in his commitment to teaching. In the past he has held a Graduate Assistant position in the Music Department at the University of Connecticut and has been a faculty member at the Eastern Connecticut State University, the Hartt School Community Division, The Rectory School, and Manchester Community Music School.

Currently Dr. Karpyuk teaches piano at Gordon College and The Hotchkiss School.
