Andrea M. Simms

After 25 years of traditional piano teaching, I became a Suzuki teacher in 2007. Having a foot in both worlds gives me a unique perspective and an even greater appreciation of the Suzuki method. My long history as a teacher has provided me with a strong knowledge of additional repertoire and techniques for teaching reading and working with transfer students. My Bachelor’s degree is in piano performance, and I have a certificate in piano pedagogy from the New School for Music Study; I also studied group pedagogy at the University of Colorado.
