Andrea Myers relocated to Minneapolis, MN during the summer of 2008 to pursue a Bachelor’s of Music in Flute Performance from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with Immanuel Davis. During the progress of her degree she performed in traditional settings with the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and various chamber ensembles and crossed over into the jazz realm performing and soloing with jazz combos and Jazz Ensemble I. Her curiosity about other music styles is demonstrated by the range of performances in which she has taken part; from weddings and recitals to the Minnesota Fringe Festival. She has participated in masterclasses held by Keith Underwood, Ali Ryerson, Conor Nelson, Pedro de Alcantara, and Wilbert Hazlezet and performed with Twin Cities ensembles such as the Encore Wind Ensemble and the Strange New Music Ensemble.

As a private teacher she aims to foster a love and appreciation for not just music but all forms of art. Each lesson her goal is to have the student walk away having had fun but inspired to continue to better themselves. She seeks to further educate and expand her knowledge of flute and teaching by attending trainings and workshops. She is certified in Suzuki Flute Book 1—6, and 9 and has also received training from Artsage. After an injury in 2009, she began to study Alexander Technique with Tully Hall and it has proven to be an invaluable source of information and inspiration.

She is a founding teacher of Hopewell Music Cooperative North, a music school based in northern Minneapolis which provides accessible and affordable high quality music education for the community. A highly sought after teacher, she joined the faculty at Mahtomedi Middle School in Fall 2013 and joined the faculty at Saint Paul Conservatory of Music in February 2017.
