Ana Maria Hernandez-Candelas

A very experienced teacher, Doctor Ana María Hernández teaches online and live flute and piccolo private lessons, master classes and workshops. She teaches all levels and ages focusing on developing her student’s individual capabilities while enjoying making music. Piccolo Soloist of Puerto Rico Symphony, she is an active soloist and clinician. She has been featured in concerts and masterclasses in 16 countries in the Americas and Europe. Dr. Hernández’s former students perform as soloists as well as in orchestras, bands, chamber music. They also teach at music schools in Puerto Rico and the US. They have pursued studies at the Intelochen Arts Academy, Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory, Michigan University, Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico among others. Her students have won prizes in national and international competitions. They have also pursued careers in composition, musicology and many other non musical fields.
