Amber Wang started playing violin at the age of four, and then found her passion for the viola when she was thirteen. She studied with Sheila Browne at University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a high schooler. She has played in master classes for American String Quartet, Daedalus String Quartet, Cassatt Quartet, Cavani Quartet, Mathias Tacke, Peter Salaff and Don Weilerstein. She won 1st prize at the Ohio Viola Society Competition in 2016. She has a Bachelors in viola performance from Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with Kirsten Docter. She is currently a second year graduate fellow at University of Michigan, where she studies with Caroline Coade.
