Teaching and playing the violin are Amanda’s main passions in life. She maintains a studio of private students in Westminster, MD and is a full-time faculty member of Music Kids, a program in the Washington DC area offering private and group lessons to students in partner schools.
Lessons with Ms. Amanda are planned and structured individually per student with his or her goals in mind, spanning all levels of study.
Amanda has 6 years of experience teaching all levels of violin from beginner through advanced. She studied pedagogy with Jennifer Sacher-Wiley at Susquehanna University where she received her Bachelor’s of Music Performance in violin. Amanda received her Master of Music in violin performance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she served as a graduate assistant and was on the faculty of the Young Musician’s Program.
During her summers, Amanda attended the following institutes: Brevard Music Center, NYU String Quartet, and the National Orchestral Institute. Amanda has served as the concertmaster for both the symphony orchestras at Susquehanna and Miami, and she is a new member of The Columbia Orchestra this season. In her spare time she enjoys reading, trying out new recipes, and spending time with family.
