Hello from Alyssa Huang!

I started taking piano lessons as a 4 year old little girl. With my piano teacher’s instruction and daily encouragement from my mom, I thrived on the Suzuki method all the way through high school. I began teaching piano lessons to children from my church during high school and found that I loved sharing the instrument almost as much as I liked playing it.

I earned my degree in Bible and Elementary Education with a Spanish minor from Faith Baptist Bible College. I participated in handbells (my second musical passion) and loved the group atmosphere of playing another instrument. Over the past 6 years, I have been teaching private lessons through my home and the schools where I have been teaching kindergarten. I have had a wide range of students from 4 year olds through seniors in high school.

My love for Suzuki branches from my passion for children to read and be able to communicate because music is very similar to learning to speak and read. The Suzuki approach seeks to teach students in the same way they learn a language- speak first and read later. The Suzuki method is a beautiful blending of learning to play by ear while still learning the basis for theory and expressing music with precise technical skills.

In addition to piano, I enjoy baking, traveling, photography, and spending time with my two children. Each of these allows me to express my creativity and passion for life.
