Aliza Bowcutt, grew up just outside of Park City, Utah, she began studying the violin at the age of 4. After watching her older sister play and perform on the violin she could not wait to get her turn. Aliza’s love for the instrument grew quickly and she progressed through the Suzuki books. By the age of 16 she was teaching students, performing in youth orchestra groups, and in various competitions throughout the State. Aliza loved the satisfaction and pure joy she felt while playing the violin. After years of playing and competing she began teaching students in her community. She found a different joy unlike any other. The ability to make a difference in another child’s life and share the gift of music.

Attending Utah State University was a highlight for her. After receiving a four year scholarship, Aliza was an active part of the the music program there. She was a first violin in the USU Symphony Orchestra, USU String Ensemble and was a part time string teacher for the University. While at USU she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education as well as a Minor in Children’s Music. Following her studies at USU she attended Suzuki Violin Camps and became a Suzuki Certified Violin Teacher.

Mrs. Bowcutt has taught the violin for the past 26 years. While living in Virginia she was able to teach at a Private Music School and co head the Suzuki program there. She taught children’s preschool music classes, summer camps, youth string groups, private lessons, as well as perform in the community.

Performing is an amazing feeling, however the true satisfaction for Mrs. Bowcutt comes from seeing a little 4 year old develop a love for music. Watching their parents faces light up the first time their child learns a song by ear. And most importantly being a part of their lives. The true joy for her comes through teaching!
