Alisa Horn is a freelance cellist and she enjoys performing and teaching a wide variety of musical genres from classical to jazz to rock and beyond.  A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Alisa studied with Professor Peter Spurbeck at the University of Memphis. She received her Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the University of Michigan, studying with Professor Anthony Elliott, and completed her Master of Music in Cello Performance in 2006 at Northwestern University with Professor Hans Jorgen Jensen. Alisa began Suzuki cello lessons at the age of four and she completed her own Suzuki Teacher Training with Gilda Barston, Barbara Wampner, and Pamela Devenport at the School for Strings, New York.

Alisa has performed on Broadway in many shows including Sunday in the Park with George, An American in Paris, If/Then, and Next to Normal. Alisa is a member of the Inventions Trio with jazz legends, Marvin Stamm and Bill Mays.
