Ms. Alisa Horn
Alisa Horn is a free-lance cellist in New York City where she enjoys performing and teaching a wide variety of musical genres from classical to jazz to rock and beyond. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Alisa studied with Professor Peter Spurbeck, former principal cellist of the Memphis Symphony and professor of cello at the University of Memphis. She received her Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the University of Michigan, studying with Professor Anthony Elliott, and completed her Master of Music in Cello Performance in 2006 at Northwestern University with Professor Hans Jorgen Jensen. Alisa began Suzuki cello lessons at the age of four and she completed her own Suzuki Teacher Training with Pamela Devenport at the School for Strings, New York in 2013.
Alisa is currently performing in the new Broadway musical, An American in Paris, and is a member of the Inventions Trio with jazz legends, Marvin Stamm and Bill Mays. For more information about Alisa and where she is performing and/or teaching, please visit: www.alisahorn.com
