Mr. Alexandre Ribeiro de Oliveira

Alexandre Ribeiro is a Brazilian classical guitarist who has specialized in performing on early plucked instruments. He has recently appeared in international festivals in Germany, USA, England, Argentina, Portugal and Tchec Republic, receiveing support from the Brazilian Ministry of Culture.
Specializing in theorbo and baroque guitar since 2009, quickly being highlighted as one of the brightests up and coming Brazilian theorbo performers.
Mr. Ribeiro integrated the duo Scordatura Antiqua and started a tour in several cities in the Brazil and USA.
As a classical guitarist, Mr. Ribeiro is a two-time winner of the prestigious Souza Lima National Guitar Competition in São Paulo, Brazil, and has participated of several important Brazilian music festivals, notably Souza Lima, Movimento Violão and Vital Medeiros.
Concomitantly to his performing career, Mr. Ribeiro is also an accomplished guitar teacher, having oriented students that won important competitions in the São Paulo greater area since 2011, his students has recorded a cd in 2015 and are in great evidence as composers, performers and even teachers.
Besides dedicating himself to private teaching, Mr. Ribeiro also has devoted his work to educating the youth in social projects in the outskirt areas of São Paulo. Since 2008, he integrates the faculty of two important outreach organizations: Guri Santa Marcelina and Programa Música Vocacional. Alexandre Ribeiro is also a pioneer in interactive performance, a mixture of on-stage teaching and performance, having present it on multiple occasions in São Paulo.
