Aaron Van Heyningen began studying violin at the age of five in Springfield, Illinois. Since then, he has performed on stages all across the United States and Asia. He attended New York University for his undergraduate degree, and was a teaching assistant at the University of Akron for his master’s degree. He has attended Blue Lake, Interlochen, and Meadowmount music festivals. His principal instructors have included Ann Setzer, Alan Bodman, Kent Coleman, and Andrew Galos. Aaron is a freelance violinist in New York City where he has been heard on stage or in the studio with Mario Spinetti, Josh Rouse, Seymour Glass, Eric Genuis, The Transiberian Orchestra, and Josh Groban. He has been in the violin sections of the Akron Symphony, Akron Choral Society Orchestra, New Jersey Philharmonic, Ensemble du Monde, Park Avenue Chamber Orchestra, Greenwich Village Orchestra, One World Symphony, the Warren Philharmonic, and is currently playing with the Highline Chamber Ensemble, of which he is a founding member.


Aaron has taught at the University of Akron, Western Reserve Academy of Music and under the umbrella of the Brooklyn Philharmonic at public schools throughout the New York Metropolitan area, and was head of the Strings Department at LX Music School. Currently, Mr. Van Heyningen teaches private students all over New York City, at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, and the Bloomingdale School of Music.
