Astrid holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bates College and received her Suzuki teacher training with the Suzuki Association of the Americas under David Gerry, June Warhoftig, Pandora Bryce and Kim Lorimier. She is a charter member of Hudson Valley Wind Symphony, an artist group in residence at Concordia College in Bronxville, N.Y. founded in 1988. Astrid has been teaching flute since 1990 and has been a member of the Suzuki Music School of Westport faculty since 1999.

Erica Hardy is a distinguished Suzuki cello instructor recognized for her expertise in teaching students of all ages — particularly young children. In 2022, she was awarded the SAA’s Certificate of Achievement.

Erica has held notable roles in the local Suzuki community, taught at well-known East Coast music schools, and has seen her students perform at venues such as Carnegie Hall. A Brigham Young University music graduate, she has deep-rooted ties to the music communities in Utah and Arizona, and has collaborated with accomplished musicians, teachers and orchestras throughout her career.
