Lauren Canitia

Lauren Canitia is a graduate from the Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL), where she earned a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Pedagogy. She teaches Suzuki and traditional violin and viola, and has worked extensively with the Suzuki program at the Community School of the Arts at Wheaton College. Lauren is certified in the Suzuki Method through Book 7, and is a member of the SAA. While teaching violin to young children, Lauren often incorporates her Musikgarten training. She has studied violin with Wei-Shu Wang Co, Paul Zafer and Lee Joiner, and did her Suzuki training with Rebecca Sandrok and Nancy Jackson. From 2009-2016, Lauren established and directed the Suzuki program at the Fox River Academy of Music and Art (Oswego, IL). She currently resides in Rockford, IL with her husband, Scott.
