Eight Costa Rican Suzuki students and their families (21 total!) traveled to the Chicago Suzuki Institute in Deerfield, IL, this past June. What a great boost to the Book 1 and 2 classes and the beginning orchestra!

One of the dreams accomplished this past summer was participating in the Chicago Suzuki Institute 2018. The contact with the international Suzuki Family has been one of the best experiences the school has had. Sharing and learning with musicians of the highest quality, including students and teachers, allowed us to observe and share and to aspire to goals never imagined before. For our parents it was especially helpful in terms of realization and family environment.
“It showed us that it is really possible to enjoy the full process, possible to learn step by step, possible to be patient with no limits and smile every second of our lives” –says Mrs. Rosella, mother of two students.
Suzuki School of Music is hoping to return in 2019. Students and parents are already preparing themselves! Suzuki School of Music believes in the methodology, in sharing with other cultures, in music as a way to fulfill a human being’s growth. As one of the participants mentioned when leaving the campus: “Mom, this is what we need—a “push” like this not only for violin, but for everything we do in our lives!”
