Volkan Can Canbolat

Can Canbolat was born in İzmir, Turkey in 1990 and started playing violin at the age of 10.
In 2004 Canbolat was accepted to the high school level Dokuz Eylul University State Conservatory in Izmir, Turkey as a student of Melek Gokustun. He participated in the orchestras around the world in Germany, Italy, Austria, Pakistan, Portugal, Switzerland.
In 2008 he participated in the masterclasses at the Keshet Eilon Violin School in Israel. Here he studied with Cihat Askin,Slomo Mintz, and Hagai Shaham.
Canbolat has won several concerto competitions since 2007 including:DESO Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition (2009 Winner), Dokuz Eylul Violin Competition (2010 2ndPrize), Dokuz Eylul University Concerto Competition (2011 Winner), andin 2012 he won Marry West Solo Competition performance award.
Canbolat currently teaches at The Colburn School and studies remotely as a doctoral student in violin performance at the University of Minnesota with Professor Mark Bjork.
