Gail Johansen

Violinist Gail Johansen is a founding member of the Fairbanks School of Talent Education and the music director of the Fairbanks Suzuki Institute. A registered teacher trainer with the SAA, she has taught for more than 37 years as a private studio instructor and on the faculties of numerous institutes in North America. Gail teaches Suzuki Pedagogy at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Stanford University and a Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she received the prestigious 2009 Alumni Achievement Award. Gail is associate concertmaster of the Fairbanks Symphony and the Arctic Chamber Orchestra and performs with the Alaska Chamber Players.
