Diana Nuttall

Cellist Diana Nuttall studied with Dr Suzuki in Matsumoto Japan in 1991after having apprenticed for two years with the first Japanese teacher to stay in North America, Yoko Oike Wong, and doing a practicum with the famous American Suzuki Cellist Tanya Carey. She has developed materials for beginners and for use as remedial material as fun pieces to develop specific techniques. she has completed the first workbook in a series, integrating reading with music dictation to help the motor, visual and auditory associations, called “Listen,Clap, Sing and Play!” Many of her students have gone on to wonderful careers as cellists in Canada and the United States, though she is even more delighted to see the number of her former students that continue to enjoy playing as amateurs.
