In Harmony in historic Boston

Suzuki School of Newton’s In Harmony Tour Group perform at Quincy Market in the heart of historic Boston along the infamous Freedom Trail. This group of 15 students play numerous concerts throughout the region, and biennially travel a longer distance. This year’s group will be performing on Norwegian Cruises and will be stopping in Bermuda with an exchange with Suzuki Students there.

Sachiko Isihara

​Now going on her 23rd year as Executive Director of the Suzuki School of Newton,Sachiko Isihara is a pianist by training earning her Bachelor’s in Piano Performance at New England Conservatory and a Master’s in Piano Performance at Juilliard. She has been a member of SAA since 1984. Her Suzuki training includes being a Kenkyusei in Matsumoto in 1993 and a long term apprenticeship with Colette Daltier in France. Sachiko has completed European Suzuki Level 5. In 2008, she became an SAA Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainer. In 2009 Sachiko became the director of Suzuki By the Green Piano Institute held in Newton, MA. She has served on the Newton Cultural Alliance Board of Directors since 2013, serving as Clerk. She was a 2014 participant of the CAELI Leadership Institute held by the National Guild for Community Arts Education and in 2018 earned the Guild’s Milestone Award.
