Lani Bortfeld

Lani Bortfeld received her B.Mus. from the New England Conservatory and her M.Mus. from the University of Connecticut in applied violin. She has studied with Mischa Mischakoff, Eric Rosenblith and Ariana Bronne. Lani is an SAA-trained teacher and a 37-year member. In 2001 she founded the Suzuki Talent Education Partnership (STEP), an interfaith music ministry dedicated to making Dr. Suzuki’s family-centered method of instrumental music instruction accessible to students of all ages, genders, economic levels and backgrounds. Lani teaches in English and Spanish, and enjoys involving families of all cultures and ethnicities in their children’s music education. She is also an active soloist and chamber musician.
