Executive Director Letter
As we thought together as a team about how to generate interesting conversations in our Suzuki community, we considered the subjects we hear about from you. The conversations we leave continuing to think about, discussing together as a team, and on occasion, the conversations that I’m thinking about while trying to fall asleep.
We settled on these four subjects:
- Our Suzuki history
- Disagreement and tension
- New Horizons: Suzuki’s Bright, Bold Future
- Wellness and longevity
The best part about this work is the opportunity to think and learn together; finding a moment for group creativity, allowing for different perspectives, concerns, and hopes to come together until a new path emerges. It’s never a perfect path. Sometimes you don’t really understand you’ve chosen a path until you look back and see the road behind you. Other times, it’s exactly the course you mapped out.
This issue begins with an exploration of our Suzuki history—the events, people, and stories that connect us to one another and to our shared purpose. You’ll hear from members of our community who have thought deeply and creatively about what it means to carry on the legacy of Dr. Suzuki as we move further from his physical presence. Their reflections remind us of the enduring strength of his vision and the ways we continue to bring it to life.
As always, this journal is more than a collection of articles—it’s an invitation. An invitation to reflect, to engage, and to contribute to the conversations shaping our collective journey. Thank you for being part of this community and for the many ways you bring our shared vision to life.
