Diversity\, equality\, inclusion and access will be incorporated into all aspects\nof this course as well as the Suzuki philosophy. The course will cover the pedagogical aspects\nof Book 4\, a thorough review of Books 1\, 2\, and 3\, creative listening ideas\, group class\ntechniques\, music theory\, note reading\, remedial teaching\, 2 and 3 octave scales\, tonalization\nand incorporating vibrato techniques into Book 4.\nCourse Requirements\n(This course will not be able to be registered with the SAA\nunless all of the following requirements are met)• Attendance (15 hours) – mandatory attendance at all sessions for course completion.\n• Observation – 8 total hours. Observations will all be completed online.\n• Memorization of all Book 4 pieces.\n• Playing Demonstrations\n• Group play through of all of Book 4\n• One solo of your choice – uploaded to YouTube with a link sent to markamutter@gmail.com\n• Teaching Demonstrations\n• Present one private lesson teaching point from a Book 4 piece – your colleagues will be the\nstudents and the demonstrating should last no more than 5 minutes.\n• Present one group class activity from a Book 4 piece – your colleagues will be the students and\nthe demonstrating should last no more than 5 minutes.\n• Written Assignments\n• Road to Bach Bourree – Book Three Review\n• Clean copy of Book 4; fully annotated with fingering edits\, bowing edits\, information\, previews\,\nteaching steps and teaching points.
